Off the runway at Pitti Uomo

Charles-Henry Bédué goes behind the scenes at the 90th edition of the men’s fashion biannual

Photographs by Charles-Henry Bédué

Pitti Uomo is one of the preeminent men’s fashion events, taking place biannually in Florence, Italy and showcasing the latest collections from cutting-edge, contemporary designers. The 2016 summer edition included shows from Gosha Rubchinskiy, Fausto Puglisi and more, glimpses of which can be found in Charles-Henry Bédué‘s innovative coverage.

More atmospheric than runway-focused, more interpretive than documentary, Charles’s photographic approach offers an unconventional way into the fashion event, carving its elements into graphically rich alien parts that then reassemble as new sculptural forms within his images.

A selection of this work is also featured in an online exhibition by Pitti Discovery entitled Big Alien Eyes.
