ARTIST REPRESENTATION & MENTORSHIP

We represent a small group of emerging artists whose primary medium is photography. Our primary focus is on helping photographers break into the art market, through key positioning and promotion and the cultivation of a distinct artistic identity. We aim to work closely with each artist to cater our services to his or her specific needs.

Our specialization is in long-term mentoring, working as producers alongside photographers to bring projects from their early stages through to full realization and presentation, institutionally and on the market.

We offer a range of mentorship services, from one-off portfolio reviews to multi-session consultations, for photographers at any stage in their career. Mentorship services are also available to artists who are not actively represented by nineteensixtyeight. Certain services are open to all, while others are application based.

CREATIVE AGENCY

Through short- and long-term partnerships with brands, institutions and other organizations we work to push photography in new directions, connecting artistic innovators with a range of clients to bring unforgettable imagery to new audiences.

Looking to aestheticize your online presence? Our team can also assist with artistic marketing campaigns (web, email, social media) catered to your brand or organization, bringing a special aesthetic or conceptual focus to engage viewers or customers in new ways.

EXHIBITION DEVELOPMENT & PRODUCTION

Exhibition shot from The Parallel State by Guy Martin at Les Rencontres d’Arles 2017, curated by Elizabeth Breiner for nineteensixtyeight

On behalf of individual artists, institutions, or brands, we provide exhibition curation services, from consultations to full oversight. Our team has extensive curatorial experience, and has worked with top international institutions; we can advise on or oversee production, presentation, technical components, written analysis, accompanying material, and much more.

CURATED PROJECTS & CRITICAL TEXTS

We produce and facilitate creative photographic projects, bringing together artists, journalists, curators and academics working around common contemporary questions.

We also undertake written commissions from artists and institutions in need of analytical guidance or intelligent text to accompany individual bodies of work, events, and exhibitions. All written commissions are either produced or overseen by editor Elizabeth Breiner.
